Thesis project description
The European Union has set stringent targets for achieving carbon neutrality, and the aviation industry faces a significant challenge in meeting these goals. Traditional aircraft are not inherently environmentally friendly, and innovative measures are required to reduce their carbon footprint. This project proposal aims to explore and evaluate potential strategies to enhance the environmental sustainability of the aviation industry within the European Union. The primary focus would be on adopting alternative fuels for short-haul flights and improving the overall efficiency of aircraft to meet requirements.
Managerial value of the research
Companies in the aviation sector can benefit from the thesis's research findings by gaining insights into innovative technologies and strategies to reduce carbon emissions. This knowledge can help them stay ahead of regulatory requirements and competition by implementing more sustainable practices and technologies. Companies that demonstrate a commitment to reducing carbon emissions may be eligible for government incentives, grants, or subsidies aimed at supporting sustainable initiatives. Access to such funding can help offset the costs of implementing sustainable practices.
Research topic motivation
I have always held a deep fascination for aviation, and I am convinced that my background in automation engineering aligns perfectly with this field. The aviation industry's inherent complexity and perpetual evolution are what truly captivate me. Working in this sector would mean being at the forefront of latest research and technology, and this dynamic environment only fuels my passion even further.
Why collaborate with us
Combination of several skills and background. Great problem solver: I have started from the ground in Denmark at 2021 where I studied AP degree in Automation Engineering, Aalborg. Now I continue in the same field in Finland. In both cases I had to build my network and community with minimal support. Internship: I had a privilege to be part of Valeo for a full semester. Even though it is not in the field, it provided me with valuable insights about a real companies. I have also developed a pick and place application to check quality of sensor. In general: I'm consider myself having an attention to detail and analytical thinking, enabling me to solve problems from various angles. I thrive on approaching tasks with a comprehensive mindset, ensuring I consider multiple perspectives for effective solutions. Makes me a good candidate to add value to a team by bringing new ideas and methods, enabling research in aviation and improvement ideas.
