Thesis topic: Film sociologyOur idea is to investigate how films can influence an audience's opinions, thoughts, or convictions. In this context, we will explore how an audience reacts, behaves, and acts based on a specific genre of film presented at a given film festival.Data will be collected through interviews with the audience after a documentary film screening, conducted in two phases: first, during the festival, and second, six months later. In the latter phase, the questionnaire will be tailored to specify whether the film has impacted the audience's attitudes, prejudices, convictions, etc.To achieve this, we will apply media ecology by zooming in on the specific agenda of the documentary film, and conduct reception analysis to understand how the audience reacts and whether the film influences their attitudes. Short introduction to Film sociologyShortly speaking "Film sociology" typically refers to the study of films from a sociological perspective. It involves analyzing films to understand and interpret societal values, norms, and structures. Film sociology explores how movies reflect and influence social issues, cultural trends, and the collective consciousness of a society. Some examples could be how films shape and are shaped by social contexts, and how they contribute to the construction of identity, perceptions, and ideologies within a given community or society.

"As students of movies and media, its our peak interest to investigate how people see and reacts on movies. In our earlier academic work, we have for example investigated peoples social connection to livestreaming, how an audience would react on certain movie genres and much more. Filmsociology is just a new layer in that pile. At the same time, movies are at the top of the entertainment industry and almost everyone in the western world watches movies today. But what influence do they truly have on a person/audience.? So the film's widespread use, combined with our own interest is the motivation for choosing the subject."
"As students, we have multiple times, succesfully, completed courses involving filmstudies. And with good grades to back us up. Furtermore we have worked together since 2018 and know each others strengths and weaknesses, which makes us an excellent team. Outside of the studies, we have both been engaged in film. One of us, in the journalistic world and the other as a volunteer in movie festivals. Our kombined knowledge and great teamwork, is the foundation, that will secure a great collaberation with a company. "
