Thesis project description

As we are both studying Ebusiness & Business Administration (Cand.merc.(it.)) at Copenhagen Business School, we will be writing our thesis within the span of business and technology. Due to our mutual background in consulting, we want our thesis to be case-specific so that we are solving a real-life problem. This also means that we do not have a specific problem statement yet, as we will define our focus together with our chosen case company.

However, these are some of the problem areas, that we have presented to the potential case companies so far:

Data & analytics strategy: How can company X use data analytics to drive business and change?

IT in mergers and acquisitions: Following company X’s acquisition of company Y, how do you secure a successful IT integration?

Building a sustainable data platform: How can company X build a sustainable data platform to enhance data-driven decision making across marketing and sales?

Managerial value of the research

We expect that we will bring value to a company through insights and reccomendations for future decisions. We weant to base our thesis on our master thesis experience in the cross-field between business and technology, why our thesis will bring strong insights within this field for the case company.

Research topic motivation

On our bachelor's, we respecitvely studied Intercultural Marketing Communication and Business Administration and Economics (HA Almen). However, we both later realized that we have a profound interest in digitalization and technology which is why we choose to pursue a master’s degree in the crossfield of business and technolgy (E-business). Additionally, this interest is something that has encouraged us to pursue a career in IT-consultancy, where we respectively work as consultants at the consultancies INTELLISHORE and North Consulting.

Why collaborate with us

We are very good friends, who have been working together on different projects, both academically and voluntarily student associations for the last 3 years. We have a strong interest in the intersection of business and technology, and are both very ambitious and motivated students. Lastly, we are both starting full time as management consultants after our thesis, so this is an opportunity for a case company to get two dedicated studens as ressources to help them with whatever case/issue/problem they are experiencing.
