Thesis project description

The thesis will be be composed of 3 parts. Analysis, Methodology and Valuation. The analysis will consist of several different models in the strategical, organizational or marketing-related fields. This will form the base for the valuation part, which will contain primarily financial analyses and models. The methodology part is an academic nessecity where we explain our working processes and demonstrate that were doing proper university work.

 

At this time, we can guarantee that at least some of these models can be used (but not limited to):

- Porters 5 forces

- VRIO analysis

- PESTEL analysis

- Stakeholder analysis (an many cases not so relevant)

- A thorough budget

- Determination of the firm's Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC)

- Trend/seasonal analysis

- Discounted Cash Flow analysis (DCF)

- Multiples Analysis 

 

PLEASE NOTE: We aren't sure of the thesis hand-in dates yet, but we estimate that it will be start or mid may. We want to get a dialog up and running ASAP.

Managerial value of the research

The value you get out of working with us entails is an acadimically up to date, deep 3rd party analysis of the company's value proposition and an overall company valuation. You can use this to gain an overall perspective of the value of your company or to gain insights into where your company creates core value.

 

Also, if we enjoy working together, we could potentially be interested in a job offer. 

Research topic motivation

Our motivation for making a valuation is that we enjoy discussing financial topics and have a big interest in working with finance and getting a finance-related role as soon as we can. We have a passion for the M&A and Finance advisory industry and want to do this type of work for a living. Starting out with academic work gives us something to show and a lot of valuable know-how.

Why collaborate with us

We're three ambitious students that work hard on getting stuff right and who like the challenges a valuation project entails. We have done this before in a smaller format and have other projects under our belts together, so we know good teamwork and how to go about in the most structured way in this constellation.

 

I will have 45 ECTS points in the finance field (not far from 1/3 of the whole bachelor education in academic terms) while my fellow two students will have 37,5 ECTS points. We are strong in all aspects of the valuation process and also know the individual strenghts that are more specific to one of us. For example, i work a lot with Excel at my job and therefore i'm skilled on the technical side. One of my fellow students already works with mergers and acquisitions and has some real-world knowhow from working with industry professionals.

 

We are critical of our own and each other's work and no stone is left unturned. We do however require a certain level of transparency from you for mutual success.
