How cognitive bias influences decision-making in a certain part of the company
Thesis project description
I am interested in a collaboration where the company would be interested in perhaps solving a problem relating to decision-making, where my extensive knowledge of cognitive bias could be applied. This can be in any setting almost, most preferably it would be recruitment or HR, where I would have access to employees.
Managerial value of the research
I would like to work with the hypothesis that perhaps the issues a company is experiencing regarding hiring, firing, retention, turnover or internal issues is due to some cognitive bias. People are often not taught how to deal with cognitive biases in an economic setting, such as a workplace. Therefore, if I could prove that it is in place, I would also like to work on a solution.
Research topic motivation
I started researchning and working with cognitive bias during my bachelor studies. I have written several papers on it and een my Bachelor Thesis was about this topic. I am deeply passionate about it, have a lot of knowledge that I would like to transform into hands-on experience that would not only benefit my thesis, but especially the company.
Why collaborate with us
I am looking for a long-term collaboration (Master's thesis with a possibility of a PhD), where the main focus would be to benefit the company. Any data or experience I am to gain from it is secondary.
The Danish workforce is strong, but in some terms it is lacking. I am currently working for a company and sense the issues, mostly with recruitment. I would like to help at least one company realise the potential they are missing, when they are falling unconsciously victim to cognitive bias.

My name is Klára and I am a business psychology student with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration. I currently work in HR, where I love spreading joy and positivity during and outside of work hours. I am the kind of person who is always ready to help and jump in at the last minute if needed. As a dedicated hard worker with attention to detail, no job is boring or too tiring for me. I enjoy doing work in the background and being there for people when they need me. Punctuality is a must for me, and I give my best performance every day. I never only stand around but always find myself something to do to be useful for the company and myself as well. I believe that having a positive attitude and being willing to help others are essential qualities in any profession.
Passion and motivation
As someone who works with people, I believe it is extremely important to always be happy and willing to make any day better with even a little act of kindness. I am a firm believer in the saying that a little act of kindness will go a long way. I can always promise to be present and full of ideas if needed, but on the other hand, I am not afraid of doing hard work for hours to make everything look appealing and cozy. Atmosphere is crucial in my opinion, and I try my hardest to make everybody feel welcome. Cleaning is no problem for me as well, as I think everyone feels better in a clean and tidy environment where they can keep their focus 100% on the work. Not having to worry about little spots of imperfections is also a part of my work routine wherever I go.
