We are 2 Master’s Degree students of Service Systems Design at Aalborg University in Copenhagen. The team of our degree is focused on Service Design Prototyping methods and tools, its efficiency, and activation across organizations. During our research phase, we would like to explore how organizations are working with prototyping, how prototyping impacts organizations’ operations, how it contributes to creating efficient solutions, and how the results impact creating holistic services. Furthermore, we would love to understand these processes, who participates in these activities, how do you involve stakeholders and motivate them to be an active part in concept creation, understand current, and future prototyping methods and come up with the most efficient practices to maximize the efficiency and agility of the company.  We are looking for a company that would be willing to collaborate with us on our master's thesis. Our team would like to discuss prototyping with you, observe your work day-to-day, and learn more how you work with it in your company, including involvement of co-workers, and all relevant staqkeholders, both internaql and external. Using that knowledge, we will outline challenges that companies might face, come up with best practices, and show how prototyping can be activated across multiple teams to create the greatest experiences to your customers. In an academic context, it is interesting to investigate what impact prototyping has on organizations, as well as what benefits and input it has for Service Design, the community, and how it can become a default method of coming up with solutions in corporations.

In the end we want to introduce you to the best tips, tricks and practices that would maximise your efficiency in Prototyping and testing new concepts, all while activating the Service Design approach. We want to ensure that your organisation can understand and see value in "quick-and-dirty" Service Design and agile approach to prototyping, so that it can assist you in a seamless way in a concept creation - all that in order to create the best service experience for your customers. 

During our professional life we both have worked for big corporate organisations and digital agencies. We teamed up during our studies and discovered we both have our favourite part of the design process, which is prototyping and creating/ideating/crafting new concepts.During our education we have learned the importance of service design prototyping, new techniques and how it's done when approaching it holistically, not focusing on single touchpoint.And that's how we have discovered how Service Design Prototyping is missed out on: as tangible concepts are being prototyped and tested, Services walkthroughs are rarely explored.We have observed how big of an impact have little interactions when going through a touchpoint to a touchpoint. Therefore they need to be seamlessly orchestrated and tested.This has motivated us to discover why is that missed out on and how can we increase the awareness of it in an organisation, where we involve all important stakeholders with hands on prototyping and help them to create holistic experiences going forward.

We both have worked for large Danish organisations and have experience from design agencies that focus on concept creation, customer experience and digital design. During our studies, we have expanded our knowledge beyond what we already knew, all when working on 2 projects simultaneously where we focused on Service Design methods and tools, creating hollistic expriences, experimenting with various prototyping methods, their impact and outcome.We also tackled the issues of stakeholders not having the time to get involved and not completely seeing the value of prototyping, and then partially failing the project, or being surprised that it did not reach a targeted KPI's. The passion and anger for it made us realised it's something we want to work with in the future and we aim to bring a solid plan of activating prototyping across organisation.
